The face of PC gaming has changed a lot in the last few decades. From the days of Pac-man and Space Invaders, to today’s first person shooters and RPGs, we have seen a huge change in gaming. The best PC games of all time have evolved over time as well.

In this year, some of these best PC games free are continuation of older series, while others are new games altogether. Some games may not be your personal favorite but they deserve a spot on this list for their influence on the gaming industry overall.

What to Expect From the Upcoming Generation of PC Games in 2023?

The future of PC gaming is getting brighter and more promising. With the release of new hardware, games are set to be more realistic and immersive than ever before. Overwatch 2 had its early access release on October 4. Next in line is Gotham Kings on October 21, and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on October 28. In November, we will have two games, Company of Heroes 3 on November 17, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide on November 30. December will start with Marvel’s Midnight Suns.

Stray is a third-person cat adventure game where you play as a stray cat who is trying to find its way home.

The game has been designed for all genre loving players and its main goal is to make the player have an adventure, through the eyes of a cat. The player needs to explore different areas, collect items, solve puzzles, and interact with other characters in order to find their way home.

Elden Ring is a dark fantasy RPG with a multilayered story. The player will explore dungeons and fight enemies in order to find weapons, armor, and magic.

3. Adventures of Pip

Adventures of Pip is a retro-inspired platformer with the soul of a modern game.

In Adventures of Pip, you play as Pip, a pixel in a 32-bit world. Pip has to solve puzzles and fight his enemies to rescue the princess from Queen DeRezzia. In his adventurous journey, Sir Elwyn bestows him the power to harness the Bit Stream.

You’ll need to find your way through five stylized worlds, each with its own unique design and gameplay challenges. You’ll have to avoid dangers such as spikes, water, lava, and more. You’ll need to use your wits and skill to get past these obstacles or you’ll have no chance at all!

MultiVersus is a game that offers an opportunity to explore the multiverse and engage in battles with a range of iconic characters. You can chose from Bugs Bunny, Finn The Human, Garnet, 

Harley Quinn, Shaggy, Superman, and many more. The game has breathtaking maps and modes. But steals the show in this game is its 2v2 mode where most players have had their best times.

The game is a sequel to the highly acclaimed God of War series, based in a setting where Kratos is once again a father. Mentoring his Atreus, the two set off on an adventure in the realm of Norse Gods and monsters. If you enjoyed God of Wars on playstation then you will do it on PC too.

8. The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe

You play The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe once, and you play it multiple times – why? For its various endings. We can go on and on about the various endings of this game from the house of Crows Crows Crows. You are Stanley (or you are not Stanley!) and you see your co-workers in office have disappeared. In this game you set off on the quest to find the truth, but it can lead you to different destinations based on your choices. So be wise!

The Quarry is a classic horror game of 2023. I will probably be playing this this Halloween. 

In Hackett’s Quarry, nine teenage counsellors throw a no-kids, no-adults, no-rules party. But it does not take long for the night to take a turn. Get attacked by blood-drenched locals and more sinister characters, and have fun battling your way out as any of the counsellors. Will you survive?

10. Return to Monkey Island

The Return to Monkey Island is a continuation of the stories of The Secret of Monkey Island, Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge. 

Guybrush Threepwood has to solve puzzles and overcome many obstacles. Explore the Melee island with classic adventure game controls and have fun with Ron Gilbert’s iconic characters.
